The hype and concern surrounding the launch of Chat GPT clearly demonstrated the collective awareness of the power, but also the risks, surrounding the mastery of data and artificial intelligence. Firmly convinced that data must be used to illuminate the future, Cleyrop is building a trusted technological alternative to enable organizations to use data to meet the major challenges of tomorrow. With its comprehensive, industrialized and secure data platform, Cleyrop aims to become the partner of major private groups and public institutions for end-to-end data management. Major organizations such as Atout France (Ministry of Tourism), MIPIH and ACPR have already decided to place their trust in the company for their software equipment and R&D projects. With this new stage of financing of over €10 million, the young company founded in 2020 will open a new page in its history in line with its value promise, democratize and industrialize the uses of data within a secure framework of trust, and pursue its strategy of profitable and responsible growth on a European scale.
Serving history on our own scale
Created under the impetus of the CoData collective, an association of French tech companies offering their know-how, infrastructures, data & AI technologies to public-sector players, Cleyrop is one of those economic players pioneering more accessible, useful and responsible data. Cleyrop aims to prove that an easy-to-use, innovative and scalable turnkey data platform can be an alternative to American solutions, with the added bonus of trust!
Thanks to a new round of funding, the four founders Lauren SAYAG, Stéphane MESSIKA (founders of Kynapse), Arnaud MULLER (founder of Saagie) and Jérôme VALAT (founder of oXya) are more determined than ever to continue in this direction:
" Our product roadmap is ambitious, with disruptive technological innovations linked to the academic and scientific world, such as generative AI for public and private decision-makers, and the deployment of "Green IT" functionalities. We are also aiming to obtain the highest security certifications in compliance with French and European regulations, such as SecNumCloud, for which we have the support of the ANSSI. Our development is based on a strategy of profitable growth, supported by relationships of trust and long-term partnerships with the private and public sectors, both in France and Europe ", explains Jérôme Valat, co-founder and Managing Director of Cleyrop.
Their objective is simple: to support their customers' Data strategy in a sustainable and ethical way, and to equip them throughout the entire data lifecycle (collection, storage, governance, processing, visualization). To achieve this, Cleyrop addresses every dimension: a unified data path and product experience to extend usage, an industrial base to guarantee scaling and processing of large volumes, full compliance with European regulations and strong ESG commitments (carbon footprint, parity, diversity...). Cleyrop's new investors, including KEEN Venture Partners (a Dutch investment fund), Crédit Agricole, Normandie Participations, a family office, and Bpifrance, which supports innovation with appropriate financing solutions, believe in this promise of value, as Cleyrop records strong growth while aiming for profitability as early as 2024.
"Cleyrop enables organizations to put data at the heart of their decisions through numerous use cases in a secure and sovereign framework, a source of inestimable value for many French and European organizations," says Ben Verwaayen, General Partner at Keen Venture Partners.
For a positive impact of data
" We want to put data at the heart of organizations, freeing up usage and enabling informed decision-making to accelerate major challenges such as innovation in healthcare or the ecological transition ," says Lauren Sayag, co-founder and Chief Product Officer of Cleyrop.
Cleyrop is currently working with the Caisse des Dépôts Group on the TechSprint challenge, designed to encourage the development of innovative data services to accelerate the country's ecological transition. With its client Atout France, the agency in charge of tourism development in France, Cleyrop is developing France Tourisme Observation, a shared data platform for the tourism industry, one of whose use cases will enable the construction of a sustainable tourism barometer to measure, pilot and predict the various areas for improvement (transport, energy, water...) in the industry.
In the healthcare sector, Cleyrop is collaborating with MIPIH, France's 1st HDS-certified hosting provider, to provide hospitals with management and forecasting capabilities to enhance their performance and optimize the patient experience; and to facilitate data sharing for medical and scientific research.
" All these digital transformation challenges are based on making the most of the same resource: healthcare data, " says Stéphane Messika, co-founder and Chairman of Cleyrop.
Chapter 2: European ambitions
While Cleyrop's commitment at national level is well established (partner of the Institut Choiseul on their Souveraineté initiative, leader of a think-tank of decision-makers on the challenges of technological independence), the company also asserts its desire to defend Europe's technological independence. As such, it is a member of Gaia-X and participates in several R&D projects of European scope, such as :
- EDHISI, a project financed by France 2030 as part of the call for expressions of interest (AMI) "Developing and strengthening the French and European Cloud industry" operated by Bpifrance, to build the first sovereign Platform As A Service (PaaS) offering.
- SIMPL, a middleware creation project for future European Data Spaces,
- or SHIFT, a Smart Innovation Hub paving the way for the future federated European health data space.
It also co-pilots, with its partner 3DS Outscale, the Training & Innovation working group of the Comité Stratégique de Filière Numérique Responsable launched by the French Ministry of the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty. "Cleyrop is taking its mission of security and free circulation of sensitive personal & industrial data to the European level, in alignment with the DSA, DMA, DGA and soon the IA ACT. We are proud of this European ambition: to protect and liberate our potential from all dependence, to see the emergence of a new trusted digital industry", asserts Arnaud Muller, co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer of Cleyrop.Although it all began in Normandy, where its R&D teams are based and numerous new recruits are in the pipeline, Europe has become the playground on which Cleyrop aims to compete with American players, with over 50% of its sales outside France by 2025, and to become one of those European champions who will take on the new challenges of digital transformation: more economically, socially and ecologically responsible.
