Following a decision by the Prime Minister, BPI France confirms funding for the Avenir collectif project for European sovereignty in data management around Gaia-X.‍

The French government has largely clarified its doctrine on trusted clouds, and is now showing a strong desire both to prioritize the use of the cloud for government agencies as much as possible, and to use "trusted" solutions that benefit from the ANSSI's SecNumCloud qualification. The Work Package dedicated to SecNumCloud certification of infrastructure (IAAS) and managed data services (PAAS) is of major interest to future French customers, as it guarantees, in addition to sovereignty, the highest level of security currently available on the market.

Thanks to the partnership between the Cleyrop, Outscale and IMT Teralab joint teams, France is developing a sovereign Cloud and Data offering in line with European standards.
The EDHISI Project: European Data Hub Infrastructure & Service InitiativeThisis an ambitious 24-month R&D program that Cleyrop is integrating, with the aim of improving the secure Data services layer of "trusted clouds" under European law."Our strategic ambition is to build the first offer of Platform As A Service platform (PaaS) and sovereigncertified SecNumCloud for data. It is based on the principles of openness, portability and transparency of Gaia-X principles of openness, portability and transparencyCleyrop provides a customer-specific Cloud environment, with totally isolated access to operate mission-critical data projects by unifying IaaS infrastructure services and PaaS data services.

‍Aconcrete application for users demanding the highest level of security and operational excellence.Cleyrop's objective over the next 2 years is to test and validate the consistency of the functionalities developed as part of the project with user requirements, and its compliance with the Gaia-X and IDSA frameworks.

‍Analyzinggaps, accelerating collaborative innovationMostFrench clouds currently offer, in their secure & private hosting range, mostly "Infrastructure As A Service" oriented services requiring a heavy load of integration & scalable maintenance of the services needed to motorize a state-of-the-art data analysis platform. In contrast, American PAAS providers offer services such as Google BigQuery, AWS RedShift and Microsoft HD Insight directly, with the highest security standards - or even indirectly, with partners such as DataBricks or SnowFlake. This maturity gap between sovereign and American hyperscaler offerings has, until now, largely favored the latter for most customers.

‍Toreduce the risks associated with dependence on American or Chinese infrastructures, the market is waiting for a European alternative. This is the case for the Health Data Hub and the Engie group, as it is for the vast majority of CAC40 players, both ready to test and validate the fruit of the work conducted by the R&D program included in Cleyrop's EDHISI project.
