The SHIFT-HUB project is an European Project funded by the European Commission, which aims to establish a pan-European Smart Health Innovation Hub bringing together stakeholders from business, academia, politics and society across Europe to facilitate, promote and increase the adoption of smart health technologies and services. Within the project a complete service offer will be developed and tested together with the community, integrating networking and matchmaking, support for procurement, guidance for access to funding, research infrastructures and scientific expertise. The approach is based on the guidelines for establishing Digital Innovation Hubs, but complements them with the following factors:

• A Living Lab methodology and an online gamification based e-learning journey ensuring an immersive experience for patients and citizens.
• An Open innovation approach to foster a collaborative ecosystem of multidisciplinary stakeholders
• A technical platform pilot including a Smart Health Data Space, a Smart Health Apps Repository, and an online marketplace supporting experimental development based on secure and interoperable data access.

The SHIFT-HUB Smart Health Platform, hosted by SHIFT-HUB partner Cleyrop, provides a secure and controlled "sandbox" environment for various activities related to health data and smart health applications. This includes the collection and access to secure data from patients and citizens, as well as the development and integration of smart health applications and repositories. The platform serves as a demonstration and experimental framework, facilitating the connection between application providers and end-users, which include both professionals (practitioners) and private individuals (citizens).

The platform supports the improvement of health algorithms and applications by providing access to a comprehensive set of data processing tools, which enhance the ability to utilise data effectively. Its mission is to offer adequate infrastructure and associated tools necessary for the development of smart health products and services. This is achieved by easing data access and fostering interactions and co-development solutions between providers and users.

Furthermore, the platform aims to identify and integrate relevant smart health application providers and repositories through tailored scouting activities, with the goal of evolving into a smart health solutions marketplace.
